Constitution of Together Britain Collective
Adopted 24th February 2026
1. Name
The organisation shall be known as Together Britain Collective (“the Collective”).
2. Status
Together Britain Collective is a community-first, cross-party civic movement.
The Collective operates as a non-profit, member-led organisation focused on community engagement, public accountability, and policy development.
Future Intent
The Collective has a long-term ambition to register as a political party with the UK Electoral Commission when governance structures, membership levels, and financial resources meet the required standards.
Until such time:
- The Collective will operate solely as a civic and campaigning organisation.
- No activity will be undertaken that requires formal political party registration.
- Members will be consulted and asked to approve any future application for registration.
3. Aims and Objectives
Together Britain Collective aims to:
- Promote community-led solutions to national and local challenges
- Encourage participation in democratic processes
- Hold government, public bodies, and institutions to account
- Develop practical, evidence-based policy proposals
- Support transparency, fairness, and responsible public spending
- Build a cross-party platform that focuses on outcomes rather than ideology
4. Founder and Leadership
Founder: Fudge Montague
- Fudge Montague shall always be recognised as the Founder of Together Britain Collective.
- The Founder will serve an initial leadership term of two (2) years.
- The Founder will cover organisational bank fees for the first year.
5. Member Participation and Policy Voting
Membership shall be open to individuals who support the aims of the Collective.
Members will be able to participate in consultations and votes.
All major policies will be published and available for member voting via the organisation’s website.
6. Governance Structure
Founding Team Roles
Treasurer
- Manage finances and financial records
- Oversee donations and expenditure
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
- Present financial reports at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Nominating Officer
- Maintain official organisational records
- Oversee governance processes
- Handle formal organisational communications and regulatory matters
Secretary / Administrator
- Maintain membership records
- Support documentation and internal administration
- Coordinate meetings and organisational operations
7. Finance and Expenses
- A Finance Committee will oversee financial decisions.
- Expenses for team members may be reimbursed subject to approval by the Finance Committee.
- The Collective may pay staff or team members subject to available funds.
- Financial decisions must prioritise sustainability and transparency.
- Annual accounts will be prepared and presented at the AGM.
8. Donations and Funding Rules
The Collective will accept donations in line with UK legal and ethical standards.
Donation Principles
- Donations must come from permissible sources under UK law.
- Anonymous or unlawful donations will not be accepted.
- All donations will be recorded accurately.
- Transparency will be maintained wherever legally appropriate.
Campaign Finance Limits
The Collective will monitor spending to ensure compliance with any applicable campaign or electoral finance limits. If operating during regulated campaign periods, spending controls and reporting requirements will be followed.
Legal Risks to Avoid
The Collective will not:
- Accept foreign or impermissible donations
- Exceed regulated campaign spending limits
- Use funds for personal benefit
- Publish misleading financial information
- Engage in activities that require political party registration before such registration is obtained
9. Meetings
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
An AGM will be held annually to:
- Present financial accounts
- Provide organisational updates
- Review strategy and priorities
- Allow member questions and participation
Additional Meetings
Leadership or committee meetings may be held as required.
10. Accountability and Transparency
Together Britain Collective commits to:
- Open communication with members
- Responsible financial management
- Ethical campaigning
- Compliance with UK law and regulatory requirements
11. Amendments
This constitution may be amended:
- By proposal from leadership or members
- Subject to approval through a member vote
12. Dissolution
If the Collective is dissolved:
- Any remaining funds will be used to settle liabilities.
- Any surplus funds will be donated to a non-profit organisation with similar community or civic aims.
